Happy Birthday Bruce Springsteen!
What were you doing at 2am this morning? I was feeling creative and making collages to celebrate my favorite man on earth's birthday. I also transcribed the speech he used to say after finishing The River album live in concert this year.
He's 67 today. Sap alert...

Usually I need wine to write, so I'll try my best. I know I declare my love for him often, but I truly am grateful for this year and everything it has brought because of him. I got to go on seven trips to see him on the River tour live. 13 plane rides, thousands of miles. Visits to national parks even. Priceless memories made I will treasure forever. A show injury I won't soon forget that has given me a hell of a story if nothing else. Many new friends and special people to now continue down my life path with. Most important of all though was the journey of self reflection that resulted from the lyrical masterpiece that is the River album.
During the shows talked about where he was in life when he wrote the album and the questions he was trying to answer. As I listened and watched these songs performed live I started asking myself the same questions and relating to the songs. I'll spare the specifics, but when he sums up the album he says it's about time.
Time is the number one thing I've learned this year. From the sound of my mortality ticking like he often said, to the sole fact that timing is everything. Things happen when they're supposed to. All these realizations have healed my soul in a way after the past two years having been full of constant roller coasters of unknown.
So thank you Bruce for all the good you've brought this year. I only can wish you all the happiness back you've brought me. Thank you for existing and sharing your gifts. Happy Birthday.
